Not fit to wear the shirt
Whilst it hurts that we have gifted Manchester City their first title in over 30 years (sorry Stoke and Bolton), it is no more than we have deserved this season. We have too many players who just don’t deserve to wear the shirt.
So many players today just couldn’t do anything right. O’Shea, Nani, Carrick, Berbatov, Scholes, Valencia.
List of players not fit to wear the shirt, in shirt order:
Brown, Berbatov, Smalling, Carrick, Nani, O’Shea, Evans, Fletcher.This is a squad that desperately needs to be rebuilt.
And, unfortunately, Adrian Chiles perfectly summed up the Scholes situation. ‘When the game passes him by, as it was doing, he gets frustrated’. You can point the finger at the two glorious chances that Berbatov had, or Carrick’s mistake, or any other mistake - it was Scholes’ ridiculous lunge that cost us the game today and handed City the trophy. Maybe it is the right time for Oldham to come in for him.
